Bio-Rad사의 [Proteomics]종합솔루션.
Don't bother with Worksbase! It is still full of bugs and had lost all the functionalities that were making it a product above the crowd. Worksbase is now no more than a shared folder glorified as a Database!
This is how it's happened.
True the project was behind because of the insufficient resource dedicated to the project by the management.
Dana Heath got hired by Bio-Rad for helping Andy Jacobson with the development of Worksbase. Instead of helping him he made Andy go and stole the project using some political intrigues that only Eastern Europe people such as Dana Heat became capable off after 40 years of corrupting communist.
Dana Heath knows nothing about biology and much about software development either but for the narrow field of internet application. He is however an expert to make people believe that he knows. Dana Heath is a crook for accepting a software development position in a biotech company, knowing that he was not qualified. He must have been desperate to get a job after his latest internet disaster.
Dana, convincing the management that he knew what he was doing, practically wrecked the application by removing all the essential features. He claimed that it could not be done or that it was way to complex for the customer. Dana though that Worksbase was like MS word!
He looks to me as someone who reaps out the engine of a car saying that all this wires and tubes are way to complicated and bogus. Now Worksbase is like a car with no engine if you want to use it you have to push it!
The Hard Facts. Andy sold pretty much by himself a dozen of copies of Worksbase. Under Dana none has been sold.
The Dana strategy to overcome this negative aspect of performance was to
- Blame Andy for It.
- Make it look his some of the latest Andy sells.
The future of Worksbase.
Since all the biologist have been lay-off there is no biologist left in the Worksbase Team! So much for the previous advantage! Worse yet, They think they know! David Scott for example now thing he his a biologist and that he undesrtand what needed for worksbase!
Knowing nothing about biology, and nothing about stand alone application Dana decided that Worksbase or whatever he calls this will be an on-line application running from a browser. We still have to see an on-line application for complex tasks that is really working . Even on-line application doing simple tasks such as on-line stores are very hard to use slow and often bogus.
Do you really thing it is going to work for Worksbase? Dana is working on his next internet wreckage.
