단백질이 특정기능을 수행하는 것은 ProteinStructure때문이다. 그들만의 고유한 구조는 고유한 기능을 만들어낸다. [Gene]-[Genome]-[Genomics] 이 어떤 정보로서의 기능을 수행한다면, [Protein]-[Proteome]-[Proteomics]는 실질적인 function을 수행한다.

CentralDogma에 의하면 [Gene]하나가 [Protein]하나인것 같지만,

유사한기능을 하는 단백질들을 ProteinFamily로 모아 놓는다. [ExPASy]에 가면 왠만한 단백질관련정보들을 다 접할 수 있다.

서열결정을 위해 EdmanSequencing 혹은 DeNovoPeptideSequencing를 이용한다.
