단백질동정
Proteomics연구분야에서 ProteinIdentification은 매우 중요하다. 미지의 Protein들을 TwoDiPage등의 ProteinSeparation방법으로 각각 분리해 놓고, 이들 Protein의 변화패턴을 연구하는 분야다 보니, 이들 미지의 단백질들이 과연 어떤 단백질인가를 알아내는 작업이야 말로 중요하지 않을 수 없다.
최근에는 주로 MassSpectrometry에 의해 얻어지는 데이터와 단백질 주석데이타베이스의 내용을 비교분석하여, 해당 단백질이 어떤 단백질 이였는가를 결정 내리게 된다. 물론, 처음 밝혀지는 단백질의 경우 주석데이타베이스에 없는 단백질일테니, 데이터베이스 비교분석만으로는 알아낼 수 없고, 다른 실험과정들을 거쳐야만 한다.
